The Mahogany

Just found this in my drafts list! :) I love writing short stories.. hehe :)

========

Looking at the bright night sky in a cold December's night gives a scenery of a perfect Christmas. She, sitting on her old wooden cold rocking chair, never had someone to celebrate this happy moment with. Old as the aged mahogany tree in front of her 19th Century western house in 52nd Street. She feels alone. All of her friends are with their families to spend the holidays while she has no family of her own.

Tired of everything she's feeling at the moment, she rest her heavy head on her rocking chair, closed her eyes and went sleep.

She's with a good friend. They were young and carefree. Strolling at a mall, they seemed looking for something. She was wearing her favorite dark straight-cut jeans, her plain tees, and half-tied her hair. Her friend was more sophisticated than her. Wearing a black floral sundress matching with a black 2-inch stilettos. They strolled and strolled, finally found what they've been looking for. Then it dimmed. Then it was dark. Then flashes of beautiful lights appeared. Then she's not with her old friend anymore.

She is in a park now and noise starting to linger in her ears. She was still wearing the same clothes. It was her past events. This is her past events happening now. She look around. No one is there. She smile and say even in the past, there's no people to stand here with also. Then someone's calling her name from behind. She look around but no one is there. She couldn't recognize the voice and the voice seems going farther and farther.
